How to Hold a Pen or Brush

The first step to learning how to write the Arabic alphabet is to learn how to hold a pen or brush. The correct way to hold a pen or brush is to grip it between your thumb and index finger, with your middle finger resting on the barrel of the pen or brush. Your other fingers should be curled under your hand.

How to Draw the Basic Strokes

The Arabic alphabet is made up of a number of basic strokes. These strokes are the building blocks of the letters. Once you have mastered the basic strokes, you will be able to write any letter in the alphabet.

  3. Draw a diagonal line from top left to bottom right.
  4. Draw a curve from left to right.
  5. Draw a dot.

How to Write the Individual Letters

Once you have mastered the basic strokes, you can start learning how to write the individual letters of the Arabic alphabet. There are 28 letters in the Arabic alphabet. Each letter has its own unique shape and sound.

To practice writing the individual letters, use the following exercises:

  1. Write each letter of the alphabet in isolation.
  2. Write each letter of the alphabet in a word.
  3. Write each letter of the alphabet in a sentence.
